What Does a Cleaning Involve?
Dental cleanings are recommended twice a year for children and adults. During your exam, Dr. Martin will first examine your teeth for cavities, check your gums for infection, and inspect your tongue, lips, neck, and jaw for abnormalities.
After the examination, Dr. Martin will perform a customized dental cleaning. During your cleaning, plaque and buildup are removed from your teeth to prevent cavities and infection, teeth are treated with fluoride to strengthen the enamel that protects your teeth, and any oral health issues that you might have, such as periodontal disease or tooth decay are treated.
